The Fort Madison High School girls soccer team lost for just the second time this season Thursday 5-2 to Davenport North.

The visitors from the North had the horses to visit the Baxter Sports Complex Thursday and jump on top for a 4-1 lead by halftime.

Fort Madison had the horsepower kicked in during the second half and played to a 1-1 tie in the second half of a nonconference soccer match.

Teagan Snaadt scored the one first half goal for the Bloodhounds with 6 minutes, 17 seconds to play in the opening frame.

Snaadt added her second goal with 8:21 remaining.

Hadley Wolfe had an assist. She is fourth in class with 17 assists and her point total of 41 is 16th.

Snaadt is third in Class 2A in goals scored with 33. She also has 10 assists for a points total of 76 which is third.

The Bloodhounds managed just six shots on goal.

Bloodhounds keeper Ellie Hellman made five saves.

The Bloodhounds nearly doubled their goals allowed average, having given up seven all year, with a total of 12.

The Bloodhounds record is 12-2-2 while North is 8-6-2.

Fort Madison opens the postseason with a home match against Keokuk (1-11-1) Friday May 23 at 7 p.m. The winner plays at Burlington (11-2-2), which received a bye, Wednesday May 28.

The other side of the bracket has Clear Creek-Amana (5-9-1) playing Burlington Notre Dame (3-8) Friday. The winner plays at Cedar Rapids Xavier (5-2-3), which received a bye, on Wednesday..
